My self Shweta i am 17 year old, I realise before 7 days that, I am unable to hear in my right ear during online tutorial. Then I consult Doctor near to my home. Then he refer me to ENT. He did hearing test ( Right ear: Severe sensorineural hearing loss, left ear : Mild hearing loss). Doctor suggest me to use hearing aid, there is no other option for you. And he refer me to hearing aid specialist.
I don’t want to use hearing aid bcoz i am able to hear in my left ear.
I want suggestion what to do now???
I am agree with Dr. Gaurav Patil with the types of management. Like people who is having vision problem they are using vision glass and they are accepting that they need vision glass which helps in improving the eye sight. Same way anyone who is having hearing loss then need to acceptance of their hearing loss and go for hearing aid which is definately going to improve you quality of life after using hearing aid.there are so many advantage of listening from both ears. 1 hearing better in noisy situation. 2 Help in understanding the direction of sound coming from. 3 require less loud sound when hearing from both ear. So I will suggest you to visit certified Audiologist or ENT near to your place. They will do best for you.
If you have right ear severe sensorineural hearing loss and left ear mild hearing loss, it may be you have problem of localization, speech discrimination etc.
I am suggesting you 3 way management
1. Go for unilateral cochlear implant ( surgery cost more than 6 to 8 L onward)
2. Go for unilateral Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) ( cost 2 to 3 L onward)
If you are going with above management at least you can get sensation with your right ear
3. Go for Cross Hearing Aids ( cost 60 k onward)
If you are going with (3) your bad ear response cross to better ear.
Before going to management ask your ENT surgeon and Audiologist they will help you better. They will do best for you.
